Today I caught part of a speech Biden was giving. Obama was on the sidelines. Biden went on about how he was not the best choice as a running mate and how Hillary would have been a better choice. I didn't get details because I was doing something else but, is there another 'flip-flop" in the works? Is Biden being edged out? Lots of people think Hillary would have been a better presidential choice, than Obama.

I get tired of hearing McCain the candidate use his veteran and POW status to try to demonstrate his patriotism, and as a senator, turns around and screws over the very men and women who are now defending our country all over the world. ( and those sent by a moronic President to Iraq).

I will always admire the people who serve our country, but IMHO, a teacher is sometimes as big a hero and patriot as a soldier.

April 2003: McCain urged other Senate members to table a vote (which never passed) to provide more than $1Billion for National Guard and Reserve equipment in Iraq related to a shortage of helmets, tents, bullet-proof inserts, and tactical vests

Oct 2003 McCain voted to table an amendment by Senator Dodd that called for an additional $322,000,000 for safety equipment for United States forces in Iraq and to reduce the amount provided for reconstruction in Iraq by $322,000,000.

March 2006 McCain voted against increasing veterans medical services funding by 1.5 bil in FY 2007 to be paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes.

April 2006 McCain voted against $430 million for Department of Veteran Affairs for outpatient care and treatment for veterans

May 2006 McCain voted against an amendment that would provide 20 million to Veteran's Adminstration for health care facilities.

July of 2007 McCain voted against a plan to drawdown troops in Iraq.

September of 2007 McCain voted against the Webb amendment that called for adequate troop rest between depolyments.

And the list goes on.

McCain IS just another Bush, no matter how IMC tries to spin it.

Pretty scary, ya think?

Barack Obama-

In favor of immediately cutting and running from Iraq and presumably from Afghanistan. Going to drastically cut military spending. Going to appoint a civilian review board over the quadrennial military review board. Going to stop anti-missile defense programs, leaving Americans defenseless and terrorized by nuclear weapons. Going to try for a world without fissile materials, meaning an abandonment of nuclear power. Going to disarm American nuclear weapons that are aimed at Russia.

Wow!

Transcript

Barack Obama: I'm the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning; and as President, I will end it. Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of Future Combat Systems. I will institute an independent Defense Priorities Board to ensure that the Quadrennial Review is not used to justify unnecessary defense spending. Third, I will set a goal for a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal: I will not develop nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenal.
