Obama claims success

Posted in: Muscatine

Well, there you have it, folks. From the liberal supreme leader. No longer can they say Bush's surge policy in Iraq is a failure. No longer can they say the troop surge isn't working. All those liberal naysayers must bow down to the admission of their fearless leader...you were all wrong. Your leader says so.

"A year ago Barack Obama was talking about how the surge of US troops into Iraq was going to fail.  He called it bad strategy, and said he could not support it

Today, however, he finally granted an interview to Fox News' Bill O'Reilly and during that interview finally admitted that the surge worked

The troop surge in Iraq has been more successful than anyone could have imagined, Barack Obama conceded Thursday in his first-ever interview on FOX News The O'Reilly Factor.

As recently as July, the Democratic presidential candidate declined to rate the surge a success, but said it had helped reduce violence in the country. On Thursday, Obama acknowledged the 2007 increase in U.S. troops has benefited the Iraqi people

I think that the surge has succeeded in ways that nobody anticipated, Obama said while refusing to retract his initial opposition to the surge. I've already said it's succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.

"...succeeded in ways that nobody anticipated." That nobody anticipated?

Nobody, that is, except the Bush administration.  Nobody except General David Petraeus, the architect of the surge strategy.  Nobody but Obama's opponent, Senator John McCain.

Does Obama think we're stupid?  He must, in trying to pass off a line like that."

..."Bad strategy? Could not support it?" Guess that shows what kind of military leader nobama would be.

"...succeded beyond our wildest dreams".  Of course, the opposite of that is that liberals have failed beyond their wildest dreams on this issue. Even the troop surge's biggest opponent, Jack Murtha, saw the surge working. Notice how quiet he's been recently?

Man o man...I'll bet a few of you true-blood libs are just seething...

Gallup Poll - Election News

Gallup Daily: McCain Moves Ahead, 48% to 45% NEW

September 7, 2008 John McCain has moved ahead of Barack Obama in the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking, 48% to 45%, following last week's Republican convention. This is McCain's best showing since May.

Anyone else find it eery that not one true-blooded and ordinarily full-blown with commets-liberals have no comment on their biggest defeat point to come their way in ages; as noted in this post?

ceptin' davie rambling about an illicit poll website, the silence here is deafening.

Somehow good stuff in the war is going to be truned into bad by them. Dont know how yet but they are working on it. Just wait. Yeah the silence is defening and kind of nice.
