Muscatine

Everybody up bright and early, this morning?

First off, lol JOS.

Besides that, I didn't get power till 1:30 and my neighbors across the street didn't get it till after 5:00 p.m.

I hate drinking warm beer.

Amazing how all the restaraunts and buisnesses in the same area got power before we did.

Guess I shouldn't be upset about all the darn trees we had to clean up!!  I hate having woods around us (unless it is mushroom season).  We never lost our power, and I didn't have to work. I think west hill was very hit and miss for power outages.

I didn't get to see the big old tree across the street when the wind was blowing hard because I was still sleeping and my husband said I wouldn't get up, but he said it was bent over and touching the ground.

The sad part is all the trees down all over again.....seems to be a repeat thing.

It was one heck of a wind storm. It woke me and the wife about 5:30am. Watched a cooler containing about a 12pk of pop hover about 6 to 8 inch in the air before before blown across my yard. The nieghbor's shed got placed in my yard in about a zillion pieces.

I personally think the city and Muscatine P&W did a good job in the response.

The day would have been better here if we'd got our power back on before 8 PM.  Warm beer really suks!!   I looked out my window and thought it was the 4th of July again.  All kinds of trees contacting the wires and creating some very nice sparks.  They predicted we were going to get a nasty storms with wind,  so I'm wondering why the sirens didn't sound for this?

My biggest complaint would be the on lookers!   Normally we get about 50 cars a day on our street,  but today that probably hit 500 with all the people wanting to see the damage and take pictures.  If you don't need to be out then stay home and make it a little easier for the crews out trying to get things done and back to normal for some.  There was a few times I felt like using the tractor bucket to push a few cars off the road.  Nothing like sitting 20 minutes at a stop sign that usually takes 2 minutes, just to get to the next mess.
