Let the people go............

Your post, davie, was noted as the knee jerk reaction; not the court's ruling. Losing your reading skills again.

Does not matter what it says on some building, davie; only matters that they took an oath to uphold the constitution. Legislating from the bench violates that oath and YOUR rights.

Now, riddle me this Batman: Did we give POW's in WWII the right to habeas corpus while the war was still in process?

We both know the answer to your question. I don't believe it merits an answer. The question is are we at war? Who are we fighting? Are we holding these people so we can chase ghost in the sand? President Bush himself has claimed "Mission Accomplished". Has it not become like the war on drugs. A symbolic effort at best? Again why are we holding the people?

Peace

I believe what I stated "To claim a REPORT of their ruling being knee jerk is almost border line stupidity." Are you losing your reading skills?

To state that our Government may be restricting my rights is the understatement of the decade.

Well I believe it does merit an answer so let me break down your questions.

The question is are we at war? As difficult as it may be for me to believe that anyone would ask that question today, please allow me. Yes we are fighting a war and very similar to WWII we were provoked into it. Or have you forgotten 9/11?

The question is are we at war? Again, very difficult for me to believe anyone would have to ask this question. We are fighting Islamic fascists that believe in Jihad. Or maybe you'd understand it better if I answered by saying, the wicked witch.

Are we holding these people so we can chase ghost in the sand? Don't quite know where you're coming from with that but the answer is, of course not. We're holding them as POW's so we don't have to chase them in the sand again.

Again why are we holding the people? And again I answer because they are POW's and we don't release POW's in the middle of a war. We don't have to charge a POW with any crime during a war. It is common sense to hold them in order to keep them from returning to their side to fight us again. Which is exactly what they would do if released.

Political correctness has no place on a battle field. You don't legislate a war, you fight it and you fight it with everything you've got. There are no PC rules of engagement on a battle field either. To paraphrase from the movie "Patton," "No bastard has ever won a war by dying for his country. He won the war by making the other poor bastard die for his country."

And you know when Bush made that statement he was referring to the defeat of Saddam's military and did not mean the war on terror was over by any means.

And they're not people as you like to call them. They are murderous thugs (little Satins) that need a bullet in their head so they can find out once and for all that their precious Allah doesn't exist nor do the virgins they were promised by their murderous thug hero that they call the profit Mohammed.
