I don't know who you are addressing this question to but I am going to jump in. My guns give me freedom of fear which is an important page in my book. If I meet the bad guy anywhere like a dark street, a crowded mall or school, and even including my own home and he is armed I am not, I am doomed to be the victim. As well as those depending on me will also be victims. You can barter all you want with the bad guy, and give him all he demands, but the truth is, there are people who will kill you just for the fun of it. I would at least like a running chance because he is going to try to kill me if I fight back or not. I prefer to fight and for me that would include the right to bear arms. I have worked hard for what I have and by God, the bad guy better expect to work hard to get it! |

I read a very different point of view. The gun didn't erase fear and bring freedom, fear bought the gun.
True enough bad guys are everywhere, but they are bad before guns enter the picture and they become worse with them. I say, if a bad guy (Your wording) enters your home, you're already a victim. As for those depending upon your protection? I bet they get your protection with or without a gun. Therefore no credit should be placed with the gun.
