Anyway, the kids belong to the church members. They have the right to do what they want. Ain't that the argument for abortion?

Nobody has the right to marry 13-year-olds to 60-year-olds. The 13-year-olds are not emotionally mature enough for that sort of thing (and pretty much all of science and humanity agrees).

Oh, and this is illegal. Period.

I still think the government acted a bit too hastily, then allowed or encouraged the press to create hysteria to confuse the whole issue. Seems to have worked quite well.
