Well folks, I went down to the "Red Brick Bldg.", for the "Official" bridge lighting @ 8:30pm last night.  I was there @ 8:15pm.  At 9:00pm, I, along with several other people left, with NO lighting of the bridge (for one, I was COLD!  I had camera in hand, and, was going to take SEVERAL pictures to share here, and other places, but, that DIDN'T happen!!  I noticed on the Channel 6 10 o'clock news that the lighting DID happen, but at what time, I haven't a clue.  I was HOPING that the 1st "official" lighting that there would have been a FANTASTIC light show.  AGAIN, not a clue as to what happened!  Again, as usual, the "powers to be" must live in a different time zone than the REST of us "Muscatinezites".  From the pictures that were shown on channel 6, they MUST have set there cameras up in EXACTLY the place where I was standing to take their pictures!  Channel 6 was NOWHERE to be found when I left at 9pm.  I WONDER if the bridge lighting had to wait UNTIL channel 6 showed up so that WE could get the "free press"?  Oh well!  Tom.

So now we have a pretty bridge. Cool looking and no complaints UNLESS you drive across the darn thing. Still don't understand why all that money was sunk into putting up a L.E.D. lightshow. and nothing was allocated for the few on the deck. Those darn lights haven't worked properly for years!  Maybe MUSCO (great company!) will throw in a few lights for that?

the ole mayor on TV last night looked like it was past his bedtime -- or one too many nightcaps. Of course on the Hooterville Raydio today he used a part of his famous "pet project" lines - "Good Things are happening" - Oh Heckfire, Folks will come for Miles and Miles around to gape in awe at those purty lights.

Hey Cory, there's a news tip for ya - Boo-Coo bucks spent on light show but none for Proper Bridge Deck lighting!

The ole Wallflower polished up nice tho! 8-)

Well we ventured down to see the lights too and got there about 8:55 and we walked over and stood near the round circle part by the harbor. Cars were everywhere and when the lights did not come on at exactly 9:00 several of the cars started up and left. I think most people know that things never run on schedule and I am sure there was some sort of dedication program or something going on as there were flasing lights down near the new boat ramp.  That street along the old park and into the old boat ramp had been closed but it was open last night. And it was filled with cars. This morning it is closed again. Anyway the lights came on about 9:05 and it was worth the wait. I like them.

I thought it was great and all involved in the project should get a job well done! No tax dollars were were used and it will bring folks to Muscatine that will spend a few bucks while here.
