Price gouging is a frequently pejorative reference to a seller's asking a price that is much higher than what is seen as 'fair' under the circumstances. In precise, legal usage, it is the name of a felony that applies in some of the United States only during civil emergencies.
I really don't think the price of gas is "Fair". Anyone else?
I can remember a few years back when gas prices started to rise and people started voicing their opinions on the matter saying the government is price gouging and within a short amount of time things changed. We are the people of this country really need to take a stand and start speaking up. I voice my opinion on this matter when ever I get the chance. I try not to drive my car as often, but instead walk when I can. Instead of driving to wal-mart or Menards I started walking to True Value (much closer to my house) and I have found that they have a lot of the same things that I drive to buy at wal-mart or menards. I never really went to that store just because I was going to wal-mart I would just buy it there. I have a city bus stop in front of my house, instead of me driving why not get on the bus save a little bit of money that way, and have one less car on the road. I think we should all try and use our public transportation system whenever we can. Things like this make is so we are spending less on gas, and that is the only real way our voice will be heard.
