Yesterday I almost had a car accident yesterday because of the road closed signs on Park Ave in front of Tee's. I watched all day yesterday to see how many other people almost got into an accident due to that sign and there where tons of them.

The sign reads "open to Mississippi Bridge closed at Mad Creek" it is just right after the light at Washington and Park ave. It seems during the busy drive times people are just about running into it or swerving to miss it and almost hitting someone else.

I called the city public works building and after telling the lady on the phone about this saying that it needed to be moved because you can not see it in time to move out of the way when it is busy on the road. She said thanks for calling.

Today I come to work, knowing that it was there yesterday and just in case it is there again I made sure I moved to the other lane early. Guess what I was right it was still there. I hope that if an accident does take place the city is held liable for it, more so now that it has been reported and they still have done nothing to correct the problem.

It's still there as of 1pm today...plus there's another sign in the OTHER lane, only a little way past it. So, IF you can even get into the left lane, you immediately have to swerve around the other sign. I rarely take Park Ave, but did today and it was a nightmare. The intersection of Park/Washington was blocked while people waited to be able to move into the left lane...and naturally, nobody would let anybody in. Luckily the car in front of me was able to turn down Washington and I could get out of the mess...probably still be sitting there otherwise.

Also, if you haven't been on Fifth St, don't! There are stop signs at every corner since it's a detour and traffic today was bumper to bumper both directions.
