Believe it or not, there is an upside to high gas costs.

High gas costs=less use=less pollution=more exercise=better health.

high gas costs=higher food costs=less food consumption=lower weight.

Therefore, the higher gas goes, the stronger and healthier our kids become. Pollution, obesity, solved. Once again we may see kids outside playing ball, riding bikes, jumping rope, actually walking places.

In order to get kids outside to do things like that, they would have to make XBOX and PLAYSTATION illegal first.Laughing

Less food consumption because it's more expensive? Hmmm... what about the fact that fattier, unhealthier foods are less expensive than healthy ones in a lot of places. We're going to be eating more fatty, high cholestoral foods instead of the wholesome, expensive organic stuff.

Of course, you could always buy a hybrid car and not worry so much about gas prices.

The same grain and meat goes into unhealthy food as does your "organic" food. Grain shortages will mean meat shortages too. Yes, lets all buy a hybrid car, and hybrid semi's, and hybrid freight trains and ships and hybrid farm machinery. Oh, wait. We can't yet.

Changing weather patterns and natural disasters are already wiping out some food production in some countries. Argentina is witholding the export of some grains. Others will follow as food producing countries try to feed their own first.
