Muscatine

 A co-worker of mine told me AND showed me, via digital photography, that the Mississippi River Bridge was lit up last night in a beautiful purple, from Iowa to Illinois.  Did anybody else see it?  I heard that there was a TON of cars down on the river front looking at it.  Don't know if it will be on from now on, or not (may just be testing it again).  Saw NOTHING in todays' Journal about ANY of it!  I was really impressed by the pictures that she took!  I'm going to go down there this evening to see if it's lit again.

I wonder if it is going to be lit all the time or only when the wind is not blowing. You know just like that very expensive water attraction that we have down there that is never on.

I believe the journal said the light fixtures needed rebuilt or something to that effect. Seems like it would be cheaper and less troublesome in the long haul, to just paint the bridge with luminous paint, or a bright neon color. Always on, no electrical power needed.
