Nedl - it's the fault of inattentive parents

I disagree. I blame a system that holds no kid responsible for their actions. A system that tells and teaches kids that parents have no right to stop them. A system that has torn apart the very fiber of family.

Show me the parent that says "gee, hope my kid gets high today".

Bet I'm quicker in showing a system that allows and supports it?

Peace

Chosen, my man, I agree 100%.

*cough* Wii need a youth center *cough*

>_> I didn't say anything.

It is quite said though, how is this happening? I mean, seriously, who's letting this continue happening? And don't blame the liberals, Nedl - it's the fault of inattentive parents on all sides.

A youth center will turn out to be just another place for punks to go to show off their new high. Better a youth training camp. Kinda like a church bible school. Teach the snots respect, consideration, obedience, cleanliness. A bit of religion wouldn't hurt.

Mopping Amen, AND Hallaejulia (sp?), BUT, you get the drift!  I agree with the LAST post, 100%!  I know that the oldest that lives with us, thinks that the world owes her EVERYTHING, that she is responsible for NOTHING, and wouldn't be able to wipe her own butt, if it weren't for her gramma.  I don't know what's going to happen to HER children, when she has a herd, IF her grandma's gone, her mother won't be able to help her (she can't help herself).  It'll be ok, cause this this kid takes NO responsibility for her actions, and, answers to no one for what she sees as "no problem".  Wonder who's going to pay for the welfare and wic checks, in THAT generation (with VERY few working).  Oh well, it's a GREAT life!  Thank GOD, I won't be around to watch it, OR pay for it.  Course, if I am, I'll still be working (to support those who won't)...  Off my soapbox now.  HAVE A GREAT DAY, EVERYBODY!  Tom.

Well put!!

I am on my 2nd child to be old enough to drive...BUT I refuse to buy the car or pay the insurance unless the grades are great and they are in sports. My 1st paid for his own, the 2nd is a great student and loves sports.  The car he drives is a 97 Civic, it is a nice car....BUT...why do parents buy their kids new cars?  Is image really that important?  What are they teaching the child?

Too many kids get wayyyy to much handed to them on the silver platter!  My boys get $15.00 a week, but they work for it!  When they are old enough to be on their own, they will know how to mop, vacuum, dust, clean showers and toilets, fold laundry....   My boys know to hold a door for someone and treat people with respect!  The worst a teacher has said is that they are a little chatty...the best (and this makes me feel good) is they are very respectful, helpful, and nice to their classmates!

I pray every minute they don't get mixed up with any of the craziness going on!  We talk about problems at school and with their friends.  They know I'm always there for them.

They might not have the BEST of everything, but they are learning that to get something you work for it, because that is life...
