Second hand smoke.
Second hand smoke is killing people.
Not!!!
Wake up world!!!
Busses automobiles airplanes trucks and SUV's all pollute our atmosphere.
Bbq's and camp fires, gas grills and ATV's.
All of these things belch tons of hydrocarbons and carcinogens into our atmosphere every second aroud the world.
Not to mention the airliners.
A 747 jumbo jet starts off with over a ton of fuel, which is mostly gone after a trans continental flight.
So what is truly killing people is pollution.
Not second hand smoke.
Driving a small car belches out five cartons worth of second hand smoke just starting it
So how much did the oil companys pay the tabacco industry to spread a little lie to hide the ungodly truth.
And if you are holier than a smoker like me.
How far did you drive today.

Second hand smoke became an issue after they decided that it was the way to make people turn on smokers and their bad habit, to alienate them and make them feel so ashamed of what they were doing to others that they may just quit. There are evils in the air besides cigar or cigarette smoke and we breathe it in everyday, especially if you live or lived in southend and breathed in what GPC was sending out. I have a friend who lives near there and everyday she wipes the white powder off of her car and has to have her siding power washed to remove the residue from GPC.If this is coating her car and house you know that it is coating your lungs. It isn't second hand smoke that is killing people, It is First hand smoke, the ones that are being inhaled directly off the cigarette. I smoked for 17 years and gave it up 2 months ago, cold turkey. I didnt need a patch or gum or hypnotists. I didnt need a prescription that allows people to continue to smoke to "wean" you off of it. I had will power and the good sense to know that slowly I am killing myself. I didn't necessary want to quit smoking, I don't think that any one ever does, but I did want the quality of my life to be better. I believe that in bars and casinos smoking should be allowed. It is only ONE of the bad habits going on in there. Drinking and gambling can destroy your life the same way a cigarette can. There are places that lighting up shouldnt be allowed and I believe those places are already smoke free. Smokers are not insensitive people, they would never light up in church or a hospital. Thats why they go outside. They have the right to their habit bad as it might be the same way a drinker has the right to get drunk. I don't appreciate second hand drunks!! When are we going to ban them?

Okay, I'm calling you out on another fallacy. This one's non-sequitor. You're somehow arguing that because GPC causes more pollution, second hand smoke doesn't kill people. This doesn't make sense, does not flow, ie non-sequitor. Yes, these businesses do pollute and cause lots of health problems, but second hand smoke and pollution are not mutually exclusive. They can both happen at the same time. I'll direct you to a wealth of resources showing that second hand smoke is, in fact, bad for your health.

That links to at least 4 scientific studies illustrating the harmful effects of secondhand smoke.

I don't think that there is any disagreement that second hand smoke is harmful to your health as is GPC and all other pollution in the air. There are a million things that are bad for your health, such as drinking alcohol. It has second hand effects when someone gets in a car and kills someone or them selves. It goes hand in hand with pollution also, happening at the same time. Food can be bad for your health causing you to be overweight, and the seconhand effects of that are diabetes, high cholesterol, heart attacks, strokes. There are second hand effects to everything that is bad for you and other issues that need as much passion put into it. I am a former smoker and I still believe it is your choice to smoke and if others dont like it then dont go near the smoker. As a new non smoker, I have seen both sides and there are more opportunities to go places for a non smoker then there is a smoker, so sqeezing them out is working. But I am not a drinker and I really wish that there was stricter alcohol laws. It seems really silly to lock cigarettes behind one aisle(i.e. Wal-mart) yet have aisles and aisles of alcohol available to kids. (Yes they are getting it even with asking for IDS, any one who doesnt think they are has there head in the sand)Smokers are supposed to be responsible for everyone around thems health and who are the people complaining about second hand smoke?? Drinkers, Gamblers, Obese people. Arent they ruining their own health??? Are they looking to place the blame on a smoker when they get a disease they caused them selves because maybe they sat in the same room as a smoker did at a restaurant? I want all these people posting all the statistics and issues about "smelly smoke" to look at there own lifestyles and see what they are doing to themselves first, and then what they do to others. I will post some statistics about drinking, eating, driving, and all the other evils that lead us to death.
