Has anyone noticed the increase in noise from G.P.C. ? WE have lived on west hill since 2002 and hadn't noticed the noise until last fall. We are at least 1.5 miles from the plant. It's only a problem when the wind is blowing from the south. The roar is very annoying and makes it impossible to sleep. My wife uses earplugs plus we run a fan to try and drown out the roar. Many nights she get little or no sleep. I have contacted G.P.C. and talked with two different people. The first person actually came out to our house and brought a meter to measure the noise level. He also agreed the noise was from G.P.C. He said there is nothing we can do about it. The last person I talked to was very concerned and asked that I call each time we have a problem with the noise. He told me we are not the only ones complaining about the noise. He said they think the noise is from the fans on the dryer house. They are in the process of replacing them. He told me this could take up to a year before its done. I'm just curious if anyone else who posts here has this problem.

I also live on west hill, and have heard the noise, I think the winter weather helps, but when spring arrives and the windows are finally opened then it could be a problem. I won't have to worry though...I won't hear it over the yippee dogs I have for neighbors!!!! I smoke on my back porch, which is enclosed and those dogs bark at all hours! Did I say bark? YIP YIP YIP! I usually look forward to spring and being able to sleep with the windows open..no heater or air conditioner. So I will let you know if I can hear it in my house once I can throw those windows open and get the neighbor to take the doggies in at night!!
