Muscatine

Last summer on 6/1/2007 at about 11:30am Muscatine experanced a F3 tornado which hit the town with little warning. I posted at the time that no sirens went off until after the event. Others said they heard the sirens. Attached is a video of the officer doing a visual check. As he reports what he sees he never request for the sirens and you never hear the sirens.

As we head back into this season, I hope the city has done some training.

 So now you are an expert on law enforcement policies and procedures? What makes you think it is an officer's duty to "request for the sirens"? Does an officer have that authority; or do they merely report what they see? Where is the siren located in relation to where the officer's car is, davie? Should/could it have been heard there? Did the tornado take out any power lines that power sirens or any of the sirens, davie? Just wondering! You are such an expert in these matters, mr. supreme self-trained storm chaser!

So; you hope the city has done some training? Why would the city train the county deputy sheriff that is noted in the video? Is that the city's responsibility? Should city taxpayer's pay for training county officers, davie?

The badge number and last name of the officer is in the camera-displayed nomenclature in the video.

 Point us to the regulation that says an officer's duty is to "request the sirens to be set off"; beyond merely reporting what he sees, and that the tornado was on the ground.

How many reasons could there be for not hearing sirens in this youtube video?

PS...Care to explain the skip in the video from 11:15:25 (or so) to 11:17:27 (or so)? Wonder what was said during those two minutes?

Gotta love what you base your evidence on!!! Have you checked the timeline of the tornado that hit Fruitland and Muscatine? Don't seem to remember it happening in the 11 o'clock hour! Some storm-chaser you are, davie!
