I will admit I don't read all of the paper, but I think when this was going to be held should have had the same bold print as it had in Mondays paper! Had I known about it, I would have been there. I contacted Sen. McKinley (I know he isn't from our district, but he has an award for his help with small businesses). I left him a message and told him I had some questions about the "ban", and if he could call it would be great, but since I am not from his district I would understand if he didn't return my call. WOW, he called me back within 45 minutes and had to be quick was on his way to a meeting. He told me I need to contact my House Representative......so I left Nathan a message and asked him to call me, that I had some questions about the "ban". Okay, that was last Thursday and he still hasn't returned my call, maybe because he doesn't want my opinion..... We own our own business..not a bar or a restaurant...and we should have the choice of wether we allow smoking or not! We pay our taxes, our employees salaries, 75% of the emplyees insurance! Maybe we should be allowed to decide what is allowed!!
Rep. Sands, good for you! I am glad your vote isn't for sale, my 12 year old asked the same question a week ago, he wondered if there would be choices for him to make when he was old enough to make his own choices.
Sen, Hahn don't listen to the hecklers and the booers!! You are very right about finding facts, because I believe it is only a nuisance for the ones who are for the ban. I agree the smell might bother people, but that is it!
GPC has an awful smell, is that the next thing? People live with it! It may be a nuisance, but that is the way things are.
One last thing, someone please name me 3 people who have died from SECOND hand smoke. Not because they chose to smoke, but actually from second hand smoke. If you come up with 3 names, check out where they worked...and what kind of chemicals were used there.
