There was a article in the paper about a new fishing pier for Wapello.Does it not seem strange we live on the river but there is no place for people to go and sit and fish......Oh wait they can sit where the boats go in and out and where there is mud and dead fish washed up.I think Muscatine should think of the seniors and others who would like a nice place to fish.We are a bigger town then Wapello...or are we?

Well put Mama!!   WE live on the mighty Mississippi and there is no place to sit and fish...we don't all own a boat!  Sitting by the red brick building can be nice, but how many can sit there?  Of course, then you have the boats putting in and out, they don't like the new boat launch that was built all for them!  Oh, can't forget to mention the jet skis!  Not saying they are all rude.....but isn't it nice when they ride in close and keep the water moving so you cant' even tell if the fish are biting!  I like to fish, and even if they are not biting I enjoy the peace and the scenery.  Lately the riverfront is lacking both. we have the whir, whir, whir of the jet skis and the huge piles of stinky mud, but oh well we are at fault because we don't have a boat....

I remember when ragraii was here, the mud along that strech of riverfront wasn't even cleaned up for that, and is gets worse every year.  Come on I thought we were beautifing the riverfront...
