crossing lines?
I quote you: ''the past does nothing to predict the future. & check into it?'' Oh, bless your heart & shame on you? Many of us took your ''high school economics class'' as...high schoolers! The next step we took was ADULTHOOD! It's a heck of a lot TOUGHER than we thought it would be!
If you think you have the answers; you have youth and idealistic ideas on your side! 99% of us say, go for it! We will turn the world over to you, but you HAVE TO EARN IT. Your generation may not appreciate our generations point of view. LOL! If you paid any attention to stats you would see that ''baby-boomers''; (that would be US), RULE. That doesn't mean we want to, it just means that our numbers & our opinions count at the polls.
My advice/hope for you is this: don't discount OUR views because we are from a different generation? Listen to our experiences at living in the real world. Take that advice with what you know & believe from YOUR generation and make our world a better place! Don't discount the wisdom we have or put us down. Appreciate the lives & experiences we can share & meld it with what you have learned.
Kindness & Respect is a virtue. I offer both to you & hope I receive the same from you. We can learn much from our youth; our youth can learn much from us.
There should be NO ''generational war!'' There is enough conflict in our country. Our country can only make a difference if we all communicate, understand and attempt to change the injustices of the world. I am glad that you haven't had to learn the lessons in the original post & I hope you never will. I pray that you can continue w/ your positive outlook for our country & will continue to fight for that very cause.
I also pray that you will find someone in your life that you trust that is ''seasoned a bit'', to help mold your opinions, and that you can find respect and admiration for your elders. We may be old...we but we are NOT DUMB!
