If I'm so wrong about bigbrother Wroe then why don't you tell the rest of us why bigbrother won't answer a simple question about his reported military background?
I seem to remember him blustering about how the National Guard was every bit as important as serving in the military. I won't find disagreement with that in light of the past and present Gulf Wars. However, there were no guard units deployed to Kosovo, Somalia, Panama, Granada, etc. Even the Guard units deployed in the first Gulf War served as support and administration.
I seem to remember bigbrother blathering on about he was part of a security detail in charge of flying out Vietnamese orphans. Again, when questioned about his unit, flight status & command, name of province and airbase, guess what? Absolute dead silence. Is he a member of the VFW? I'm a member of the VFW.
Fact remains anyone can serve as a weekend warrior during peace time. Conducting civic work like shoring up levees and going out on week end manuevers doesn't make you a veteran in the true sense of the word. Now our men & women serving in Iraq & Afghanistan, they are truly veterans.
So in closing bigbrother, forgive me if you feel I've slandered your military service. If you want my respect as a fellow veteran you've a lot explaining to do to convince me otherwise. Reach into the cage and perch Wroe upon your shoulder. May be she can fill us in on all of your exploits as a modern day soldier of fortune.
