Hello all.
Haven't been here a lot lately, as I've been working 12 hour days. Bitchin' & moaning about it a little ,too. Reading the news about 2cents was definitely a cause for pause.
I, like many of you, did not know her personally, but feel a sense of loss. That fact that most of us had no clue that she was sick, I think, says a lot about who she was. Not a whiner, or complainer in the least. Obviously a strong willed woman with the other persons in mind before herself. My thoughts will be with her family these next few days. I hope healing and closure comes swiftly.

On another note, thanks to lilsmom for suggesting that DF or myself should run for mayor, whether sarcastic or not. I wish, often in fact, that I lived in Muscatine for that purpose alone. It's my belief that a mayor should have ultimate power(but not absolute) in running a city. Big city mayors make good money and have actual say in how the city runs. Small town mayor's, on the otherhand, are just figureheads, as discussed here before, with most decisions being made by city ''administrators'' or the town council. What exactly does the Mayor of Muscatine have authority to do? I don't know. There are so many issues plaguing Muscatine in a big way, many that are the same as national problems, that should be addressed, but how do you fix problems when nobody really cares or wants to have a person that has a final say?

I really hope that whoever becomes the next Mayor is a visionary, and I hope that the people of Muscatine get behind them(if they are indeed capable)and make the changes necessary. change is good, and so is thinking outside the box.

i'll talk to you all tomorrow, and if anyone talks to 2cents' family, tell them the crazy guy you all love to hate sends his heartfelt condolences to the family of an obviously wonderful woman.

Peace y'all. Until manana. Buenos noches all. good night.
