The Republican Party IS NOT the Republican Party of 10 years ago. Our local GOP has and is completely controlled by only a hand full of very special interests and super high Egotists. The Muscatine County Reps. are totally controlled by a ''non'' profit organization. No candidate could run as a Republican in Muscatine without their permission, and they don't care if that candidate is a Republican just whether or not they control him. Example: This ego supreme organization didn't even invite a Republican Candidate to a debate in Des Moines. They won't even let their Senator Hahn go to a debate with another. They wine like a little baby when they receive a few telephone calls complaining about their total lack of support on what they are suppose to do by their false charter, tax relief. It is even now very apparent they believe in keeping it all in the family, as wives are hired instead of staff so they can collect a pay check of extreme portions.
In conversations with the group you will never hear conversation other than to better themselves, and not the issues.
The Republican Party doesn't exist in Muscatine, its an assembly of people who only want their pockets filled with money at our expense.
Republicans will attempt to control all conversation and direct it to some Gay's, and totally ignor health care. I don't give a damm about Gay's, I want some way to be able to keep in good health so that I can earn a living.
