Reported on the noon news on KWPC according to one councilperson (she was being taped) if the city doesn't do the tax levy the city will come to a halt (her words). If this is true then the city has much greater problems than the tax levy. If we are that close to turning out the lights and closing the doors then someone hasn't been paying attention... Why is this tax levy even a question? Apparently it should take care of all the money problems city wide. Or will it. I beleve this needs much more dicussion within the council (and the public) and more investigation as to how we got to this point. Waiting for the halt to come.

BIGPOPPA
Since your view of the current state of affairs is so simplistic, perhaps you might illustrate your grasp of the problem by making one or two suggestions regarding exactly what it is that the city should, as you suggest, ''quit spending'' on?
Perhaps we should eliminate police? how about fire or EMT's? Maybe buying salt for the streets, or better yet, quit spending on the salaries of those who plow the streets? Sewers? Come on, give us your solutions?
