Strange thing happened 12/21/2006 on Parknoll Ave. My garbage can was taken between about 6:00 a.m and 9:00 a.m. before trash was picked up. This means someone took it full of trash. Going to file police report today (have to in order to get a new one from DPW). Concern is it may be identity theft issue -- something else to worry about. Curious if this has happened to anyone else.

Have not heard of anyone else having that problem. Guess I need to write down the numbers on my cans.

Sounds like everyone needs to be sure to shred important/sensitive documents.

We all should identify our trash cans with our address. I also think it might be an identity theft issue, but to be honest...I wouldn't think that to be the case. If I had to speculate, I'd put my money on a worker from the Parknoll Estate Development behind you needing a place to dispose of the trash that has been laying around.
I am not trying to start a ''conspiracy theory'' here....just a thought.

Garbage Cans

Funny coincidence. The next day as I was leaving for work, our garbage can was gone. As I was driving down the street, I saw the garbage truck with a repair truck around the corner at Italian Pie. I got out and spoke to the driver -- it turns out our garbage can fell into the compactor. I was told that most of the time, the driver can get it out, but if the knife gate closes on it, its done for. I asked ''Has this happened before?'' and the driver said, ''Yes, just last week over on the other side of the neighborhood near the school.'' So, no big consipiracy, but something to watch for. The Parrish says to write down the numbers on the side of the can so that you can use that if you need to report a theft.
