Rick Brounstein, Colleen Anderson, David Linn, Erin Robson-Smith, Rob LaBeck, Sarah LaBeck, Glenn Rice, Sam Dowlatdad, Corey Swarner, Maria Sworske, Afifa Ahmed-Shafi, Jason Hunsinger, Jennifer Tamayo, Josh Shirley

7:00pm – Meeting brought to order by Vice-president Rick Brounstein, President Sandra
McDainel and SEUL liaison Lisa Larenceau absent
- Introductions
- September minutes pending
7:05pm – Officer McGuire – absent
- Ass. DA Sanam Dowlatdad – asked support for City proposed Prostitution-free zone along 82nd Ave.
- Discussion about proposed zone – majority accept zone as effective tool of the police to reduce prostitution, David Linn expresses reservations about legality and effectiveness
7:30pm – Motion to sign letter of support on proposed prostitution-free zone by:
Josh Shirley, 2nded by Rick Brounstein, 11 –For 3 –Against – Passed
7:32pm – Treasurer Report – moved to approve by:
Rick Brounstein, 2nded 13- For 0- Against – Passed
7:33pm – Discussion of Property Variance on 789 NE 93rd – Owner asking for variance
of cities building code to subdivide property
7:42pm – Motion to oppose variance waiver – Co-ordinate letter of Appeal by:
Rob LaBeck, 2nded by Rick Brounstein, 13- For 0- Against – Passed
7:45pm – Update of Brewfest donation – Rick Brounstein said the coordinator of the
event would donate $300-350 dollars
7:46pm - Afifa SEUL update – December 9th Volunteer event
7:50pm – Rick Brounstein update on bylaws – still under review, postponed until
December
7:53pm – David Linn was authorized to use $100 of Association funds at Sep. Board
meeting to purchase voice recorder to record meetings on digital audio files
7:55pm – Discussion of Community Policing – Josh Shirley and David Linn express need
for restaurant/pub business revival to encourage walking in the community during the later hours of the day
8:05pm – David Linn gave update of SPARKS program – still coordinating sections,
Newsletter/ Website waiting for decisions concerning # of pages and cost of distribution, Portland YouthBuilders have offered to help
8:09pm – Ave of Roses update – given by Josh Shirley – suggests attending 10/11
meeting of action committees as to how weed and seed grant money would be spent
8:15pm – Meeting Adjourned
