West Fontainebleu Rentals

Posted in: St Andrews
Last night I attended a townhall meeting called by Supervisor John McKay about West Fontainebleu Dr. house rentals. Renters indicated their values increased one to two fold. Also, they expect business will increase when the condo is built by the St. Andrews Water Tower.

However, a county ordinance requires leases to be at least 30 days. So, the renters requested permission for two-day rentals and they informed the Commision about a court challenge in Gautier to the 30-day minimum. Objecting neighbors allege increased traffic, parking congestion, garbage, noise, and burden on the areas septic systems.

In the next 90 days or so, the Commission intends to propose its countywide comprehensive land use plan, and the renters may find that to be an opportunity to have the area's zoning changed. Also, at one point, McKay received a positive response when he asked for a show of hands about the property owners' interest in tying into the St Andrews Water and Sewer system.
