Water Rationing

Posted in: St Andrews
Everybody knows by now that the water company threatens to disconnect homeowners who water their lawns on the wrong days. Also, we have been informed that the golf course doesn't use the homeowner's water system, that the lost water tower was an uninsured loss, and that engineering plans have not yet been developed.

It seems to me that the problem is that the water company is now telling us demand is surprisingly exceeding the capability of the aquafer. What will happen when the developers add all those new homes in the PUD?

Even though the golf course is not on the same well pipelines as the homeowners it is drawing from the same aquafer. What is the golf course doing to share the burden with us?

I believe grant money may be available to the water company for restoring the
tower. Is it being pursued? What will it cost us to replace the tower? Maybe this is a good time for Ocean Springs or Gautier to annex the area so we can have the benefits of government money for utility recovery.

uninsured tower

Seems that all of our water concerns revolve around the lack of the water tower. It was uninsured; who's fault is that? Not ours, we pay our water bill every month. We pay for a service that Greg is unable to adequately provide. How bout that fire last weekend? Could have well been any of our homes. Remember, St Andrews Water Dept.is regulated by the PSC. http://www.psc.state.ms.us/
