Condos and single dwellings of $175,000 to $225,000 have won the right to be built along the 12th Street, Brown Street, Lloyd and 14th Street area.

PLAYGROUND TAKEN
Seven (7) acres of Green Space has been ''taken'' by Alderman Willie Hines, Department of City Development and the Josey Developer.

The citizenry was taken advantage of by the City Plan Commission and Zoning, Neighborhood and Development standing committee.

The appointed members of both bodies (City-Plan made-up of appointed citizens) and Zoning Neighborhood and Development, made-up of elected aldermen; have in lock-step vote handed the land over.

In fact, the good old boys in the Zoning, Neighborhood & Development Committee allowed Timothy McMultry, Legislative Assistant of Alderman Willie Hines, 15th District Administrator, to ''filabuster'' during the Zoning, Neighborhood Committte, and make light of the desires of the citizenry to keep the park for play by children and sports groups as well as for recreation by the citizenry.

In fact, Chairman, Mike D'Amato, called time on two of the speakers for the citizenry (even though they had not used time near equal to McMultry).

For this, D'AMATO gets the SHAME-ON-YOU POSTING. Alderman Willie Hines gets the AMBUSH POSTING.

WATCHFUL EYE
We must keep a ''watchful'' eye on the decisions of the two committees and in the months to come, make their decisions, narrow-thinking and obvious lack of knowledge be printed.

Smart Growth strategic planning requires that leaders of the Inner City protect and preserve land wealth.
