Fall clean up day is set for 10/25 at the entrance. Start time is 9 am and usually last about 2 hours. This is when we trim up the right of way and replace with fall flower. Lets try to clean up our yards by then so the community will look fresher and 100%. The tornado took a toll but looks like most of the repairs have been made and the homes look brand new.

Now is the best time to replant fescue grass so it can be established for next spring. If your yard looks thin or the grass died under the tree piles, you can scratch up the soil and spread seeds and keep it watered till it sprouts in about 2 weeks. See the Georgia Cooperative extension service for publications at
Caes.uga.edu/publications for more info.

The fall picnic is also set for Saturday 10/25. It is in the upper Lima court and starts at 4 PM. Please bring a side dish to share and lawn chairs. The HOA will supply hamburgers and dogs with soft drinks. Bring your musical instruments and see what develops. Last Year was a lot of fun, hope to see you there.

We will have a holiday decorating contest in December. Decorate your front yard for the season and the first and second place yards will win a prize and sign for your yard. Judging will be Saturday 12/20 starting at 7 PM.

We had a small rash of vandalism over the summer. It ranged from paper in trees to destroyed mailboxes. The police were contacted and things seem to be quieter now. Please do not hesitate to call the police if you have a problem. The people who commit these crimes are not very bright and can be tracked down and prosecuted. Mailboxes are considered federal property. It is a crime to vandalize them and violators can be fined up to $250,000 or imprisoned up to 3 years for each act of vandalism.

The neighborhood covenants are now posted on the web site. Please follow their guidance to keep our community looking great and keep property values up.

We need people to run for officers and board members for the 2009 term. You can make a difference and help to continue keeping Mill Creek Crossing a shining star in Cherokee County.
See the web site to contact a current officer for information and a 2009 nomination form.
