Mecklenburg County Solid Waste is hosting a Hazardous Waste Collection Event for businesses that qualify as a Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (or CESQG) under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). To qualify as a CESQG, a business must generate less than 220 pounds of hazardous waste and less than 2.2 pounds of acute hazardous waste each month.
The CESQG Hazardous Waste Collection event will take place Wednesday, June 13th, 2018. This one-day collection event will be managed by ECOFLO, Inc., a licensed hazardous waste processing company in North Carolina. Based on past collection events, participating businesses are saving at least 20%, compared to independently contracting with a private-sector hazardous waste disposal company. This event is by appointment only.
