Mesquite Canyon

Apparently there is a rape suspect on our street who has locked himself in the house and we have the SWAT team, a robot and Pinal County Sheriff cars every where, our street is barricaded off and we can't even go outside. My kids can't come home from school because they will not allow anyone in or out, we are supposed to stay in our houses.

I hope this ends quick and quietly!

After blasting tear gas through the windows of the house it ended peacefully and they have him in custody, I have to say I'm impressed with the Pinal county Sheriffs office and how they handled it.

Why does nothing get reported in the news about this stuff? I know we are unincorp, but how can we find out what is happening? Is there any website we can look up when things are occurring that anyone knows about?

I am satisfied with the presence of the sheriff's dept since the last incident with the judge and his alleged attacker. I am also happy to see how quickly and effectively they are out here. Nice to know that they take their jobs seriously and are damned good at it. Makes me feel safe.

I just wish there was something that us homeowners could tune into when something happens. Does anyone know of a good resource to check?

Yeah call the Sheriff's office.  I called today and they were VERY nice, took my name and number and had someone call me back in about 3 minutes.  Answered every single one of my questions (and didn't evade them) to my satisfaction so I was able to get the story and not have to worry about being home by myself.
