HOA payment book

Posted in: Castlegate

Wow is really all I can say.  Also, I think this is one of the only subdivisions that HASN'T raised it's rates in the past 3-4 years.  Really people are complaining over $8 a month???  My goodness.  Just can't make anyone happy.  People want more this and more that and weed clean up and this that and the other thing but the minute rates are raised people complain??

The people I know don't want more anything. Times are tough, a lot of them are just trying to stay in their homes. They didn't need a higher bill for things they don't need.

I agree with you vrflanders, times are tough. I think glitterybug is not understanding  that we are paying extra for all the people who refuse to pay there dues. So you are not only increasing dues you have to once again bail out the ones who dont pay which in my opinion will make people more frustrated and make the situation worse. People know the HOA has no power if you did not pay dues it will take years for them to get you to court to put a lien on the property for the amount owed and it will most likely get thrown out.  Glitterybug next time you go to your mailbox and can not see because it is to dark or your entrance goes by because there is no flood light ( trying to get for 3 yrs) or there is no rocks in the community around the plantings and cars parked in the street and tractor trailers parked along the exterior property remember that is your "only 8 bucks a month" hard at work. The HOA  has failed to give us anything new to justify an increase and most do not care about other communities rates we do not live there.

I read somewhere that if the board memeber's are thinking of raising the HOA fees they are to send out a 30 day notice explaining why the fees are going up. All that was done here was  a payment book with no explanation. It isn't the fact the payment went up it is the way it was done. I am sure that allot of members are not going to be happy. You may not mind the raise but we have a lot of people that are on a fix income right now, and without a notice this may become a problem for some.  Also allot of things are decided with out any discussion at the meeting. For one example I can think of is replacing are Management Company. Not that this was  a bad idea but we didn't even know there was a problem. Just because we voted 9 people to serve on the board that does not give them Carte Blanche I feel that we are lacking in communication from the board member's right now and this may be something that should change.
