What?¡?¯s Going On!
Another summer has come and gone and now the trees have begun to parade an array of colors in indication that fall is well on its way, and soon we?¡?¯ll find ourselves busy with the racking of leaves and we hope everyone will remember that during leaf season, employees of the Street Department work to pick up leaves that residents have piled for collection and below you?¡?¯ll find Memorial Park?¡?¯s leaf pick up schedule:
1st pick up Oct. 24th ?¨C 28th
2nd pick up Nov. 14th ?¨C 18th
3rd pick up Dec. 12th ?¨C 16th

. Leaf Pickup guidelines:
Have leaves ready the First day of your pickup week.
Rake leaves onto the park strip between the sidewalk and the street.
Do no place leaves in the street or under cars.
Do not put leaves in ditches.
Use of biodegradable yard waste bags is helpful to the environment.
No other yard waste is accepted.
Remove vehicles from the street when possible.

The Strategic Planning Survey?¡?¯s
After months of meetings a lot of hard work we?¡?¯ve finally made it to the point where we are distributing Memorial Park?¡?¯s Strategic Planning Survey and hope that everyone will complete and return their survey
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE-And, we?¡?¯d like to thank everyone for their participation!




Crime Concerns in Our Community.
Many of you have expressed concern over what seems to be an increase in police presence in our neighborhood, and in direct response, we asked the police department if there was anyway we could receive a monthly record of all calls received in our neighborhood, and they have graciously reciprocated our request, by way of providing us with a monthly printout of all police calls made to our neighborhood. Anyone wishing a copy of the print out, which comes out every 15th of the month can notify any officer of the association.

Winter Utility Bill Assistance Info.
As many of you already know this year?¡?¯s winter utility bills are expected to soar! If you are going to be in need of financial assistance to pay your utility bills- ?¡?°Don?¡?¯t Wait until the last minute?¡?± to seek assistance. You can call CANI at 423-3546 and they will mail you an application. All you have to do is call and ask for the Utility Assistance Program and you?¡?¯ll promptly be transferred to the appropriate department. Then, there?¡?¯s the Winterization program, which addresses such things as replacement windows and other problems they may be causing your home to experience cold drafts and/or poor quality heat control. If that?¡?¯s the case you can also call the number listed above and ask for the Winterization Program. For the Winterization program you Must make an appointment.
This Year?¡?¯s Christmas Party!
Ms. Louis Maddox is the committee chair person for this year?¡?¯s holiday festivities. Anyone wishing to serve on the planning committee may contact Ms. Maddox at 422-1050. We will be drawing names for the gift exchange during our November 15th meeting and we?¡?¯d like to include all Residence and Business?¡?¯s in the drawing, so we are hoping that everyone will attend and/or send a representative to this meeting.
Community-Wide Residence/Business Directory
We?¡?¯ve been diligently working on the directory is and hope to have it ready for release sometime in January. If anyone has any particular advertisement you?¡?¯d like to place in the directory please be sure to get your information to us as soon as possible.
Our 2005 Annual Summer Picnic!
On Saturday October 1st we held our annual summer picnic. It was a warm sunny day and everyone that attended had plenty of food and fun. We?¡?¯d like to thank this year?¡?¯s summer picnic committee chair, Ms. Eleanor Rose for making this year?¡?¯s picnic such an enjoyable success!
Special Thanks To the Ft. Wayne Police Department!
For providing us with Motorcycle Patrol Units along the Maumee Corridor. Within our community this has been an ongoing problematic area for speeders and other various criminal activities and we deeply appreciate the added protection given to us by the Ft. Wayne Police Department.
What is MPNASPC?
It is the Memorial Park Neighborhood Association Strategic Planning Committee. It?¡?¯s made up of various members of the community who have made the decision to dedicate themselves to the process of bettering our community by working together to create a plan that will stand as a guide to all future development in our particular area of the city.
Can anyone join the MPNASPC?
Yes Everyone is Welcome- all you need to do is attend the regularly scheduled monthly meetings!

Even though the association has reached the point whereby our community-wide survey agenda is now we full swing the community association is still meeting Twice a Month to continue our work on the community?¡?¯s Strategic Plan-

Indiana Institute of Technology (IIT)

Abbott Center (Building with the Clock) 1st left turn off of Washington onto campus.
Main Door is located at the south end of building.

Yearly Dues
Yearly dues allow us to support the monetary needs of the community.
If you haven?¡?¯t paid your dues for 2005 please do so by filling out the attached membership form.
You can mail your membership, have it picked up by one of the association officer?¡?¯s or make your payment during any one of our two monthly meetings. We sincerely appreciate your continued support!
