Out of over 1500 homes in River Trails, RTHA has 85 members.  We had 173 last year, and over 200 the year before.  Is it the economy? Or something else?

I believe most of us would like our neighborhood to be maintained and/or improved... but we need more people to join in order to make a difference. The officers have already had to make significant budget cuts due to the low membership.  Any ideas on how to encourage more people to join and/or get involved?

Annual dues are $25.  The money goes toward regular maintenance of the common areas (like along Trinity and Precinct Line), beautification projects (like the flower beds at the entrances), 4 members-only newsletters a year, and some neighborhood-wide newsletters with up to date neighborhood news and events.  Other benefits of membership include having an organized crime prevention program for the neighborhood and a unified front to advocate for improvements to the neighborhood.

If you are not a current member and want to join, that would be awesome!  There are a couple ways to join:

Online through PayPalwww.paypal.com/sendmoney In the “To” box, enter rivertrailshoa@yahoo.com and in the “From” box enter your email address.  In the “Amount” box enter $25.00 and in the “Message Box,” include your name and address.

By check. Make your check out to River Trails Homeowners’ Association and mail it to RTHA, PO Box 185014, Fort Worth, TX 76181. Include a completed membership application (found at www.rtha.org) or a note with your name, address, phone number, and email address.

Again, if anyone has ideas on how to get more people to join, please share!

Thanks!

Angie

I've been diligent in keeping up my membership, I mean come on, if you get a cup of coffee from McD's, it's the same as 2 cups per month., or 1 starbucks a month.  I would hope that many people would take more pride in the neighborhood than this.

I don't think it's the economy, but I feel a bit betrayed by the whole Gas Lease thing, as many HOA members did, many of whom were nailed twice by the former company and now Cheaha abandoning us with only a few leases left to sign.  I know there were other factors (the market prices, etc) but this is one sore spot with me.
