General Discussion: What are they doing with shopping center at I44?

Calling this meeting to order at 7:12
• Discussion of “ground rules”
• Introduction of people
• Grant money from Neighborhood Alliance – Beverly said it was on news
o Lights for street on all blocks
o Look into Neighborhood Alliance newsletter
• Form welcoming committee
o Solicit local merchants
o Planning/operations committee
• Incorporate Seminars
o Gardening/landscaping, burglar-proofing home, self-defense
- RSVP, make exclusive
• Neighborhood play dates for MH
o Cookies
- Tried a Christmas party 4/5 years ago, not overly successful
- Initiate personal invitations to neighbors
- Include Grandparents and relatives
• Kids Clothes Book – Swap Meet
• Fall Carnival
o Low-maintenance booths
• Ads printed in Newsletter for fees, buy may jeopardize the costs of printing?
• meetings at local places (Target, Rays, Rons, etc…) possibly for discounts
• Teaming up with fellow neighborhoods for attendance of meetings, proxy?
• How to get more people to show up to meetings
o meeting all the neighbors on the street
o has been interest in e-mail notifications
• Voted on a MH logo – Sarah will work on reconstructing design
• Start using e-mail, compose directory
• Elections:
o Elections, positions, committees
- Seminars, kid dates, etc…
- Nominate in November
• Makes signs for elections, publicize
- December – elections
• President join Neighborhood Alliance
• Vice-President of Development
• Vice-President of Operations
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Committees
o Beautification
o Kid Activities
o Seminars
o Welcoming
• Bylaws developed and implemented by January – goal
• Times of meetings:
o Weeknights: Second Tuesday of every month at 7 pm – 8 pm at Target

- Sarah will compile a formal letter regarding nominations for elections, hold elections in December
- Mary Beth will put into Newsletters
- Beverly – Yard of the month signs
- Kodi will e-mail minutes to everybody
- Sample bylaws on Neighborhood Alliance – website
