The area of land between Auloa Road and Kal Highway comtains two large Tax Map Keys: Kaneohe Ranch/Castle Foundation #'s 42014001 (this has the horse lot, buildings and training area) and Tax Map Key 42013009 (whis is adjacent to Trinity Church/School and is a WETLAND)
Both properties are accesable from Auloa Road but not Kal Highway. It appears that in conjunction with the Castle Junction Construction Projdect that this area, between Auloa Road and Kal Highway will be used to dump 240,000 cublic yards of dirt. This will impact the wetland on the Kahanaiki Stream system and Kawainui March and the flood zone in Maunawili Valley. It is our understanding that this constructmay will occur at night and with lights for workers, dump trucks, front-loaders, graders, and all will be equipped with back-up signals. If you live along Auloa Road, or if you live on Lunaai Place, or Maunawili Road you may be heavily impacted with light and noise at night and on weekends until the project is completed at Castle Junction. We meet with officals to discuss this impact in Maunawili on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Maunawili Valley Neighborhood Park in the Pavilion. Please come and voice your opinion to night construction in Maunawili Valley. Contact the MCA Secretary at to leave an electronic message toward that meeting.
