MATHEWS ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES FIRST NON-CASH DONATION PROGRAM

Mar 03, 2004

(UPPER DARBY, PA) - - Mathews Association has launched the organization's first non-cash donation program, announced today by Anthony Mathews, Mathews Association, director of development. Adding the ability to accept donations of tangible assets and property now enables Mathews Association to accept charitable gifts of almost any kind valued at over 5,000 dollars, such as fine artwork, residential and commercial real estate, business interests, intellectual property, machines, jewelry, coins, and collectibles.

?“Sixty-four percent of U.S. adults are overweight or obese. Mathews Association works to promote and strengthen social change in our society especially with regards to health education, says Mr. Mathews. ?“We provide customized educational programs and presentations, sponsor the Pennsylvania Healthy Communities Summit and write a Health and Nutrition Community Newsletter to extend our message into the community. As many non-profits do, we rely greatly on donations, and being able to process gifts of this kind ultimately provides endless opportunities for our community and our organization. We are excited to provide our supporters with this new way for making charitable gifts and we know this will increase our services to improve health and nutrition in the communities of Pennsylvania.

Mathews Association signed with Donation Exchange to assist with its Non-Cash Donation Program, thereby simplifying the charitable giving process for both the donors and the organization. "Our entire focus is on providing donors with an easy and pleasant way to give," says Dave Csira, president of Donation Exchange, "and the non-profit organization with a trouble-free way to accept non-cash donations. Additionally, for the donor, a previously unneeded asset becomes a valuable tax deduction that offsets taxable income." As part of the donation process, Donation Exchange will arrange for certified appraisals and assist the donor with paperwork documentation as required by the IRS to claim charitable gift deductions. In addition, the company handles pickup, delivery and addresses almost any other contingency that may arise.

To make a tax-deductible donation of property or assets with a minimum value of 5,000 dollars to Mathews Association, please call (800) 524-4138.
