Kudos to whichever group gets the credit for removing the oleanders behind the homes on Emerson.  Not that long ago, I wrote to the city and asked for more information regarding these oleanders.  They existed between our back walls and the taller wall of the storage center in the plaza behind Emerson.  Never really got any solid information back about who was responsible for the maintenance or removal of them, but in recent weeks, they have been disappearing quickly and it looks so much better.  No longer are overgrown oleanders pushing in on our block walls or existing as a nesting ground for all sorts of varmints.  Once again - kudos to whichever group is responsible for their removal. :o)

As much as we love it aesthetically, we'll likely need to be even more vigilant in the future when it comes to trespassers/thieves/vandals.  With the oleanders removed, there is now literally a walkway behind the homes on Emerson.  Not sure where the path back there leads once it goes South from Guadalupe behind the homes on Emerson, but at some point it must turn West and go behind other homes which back up to that same plaza.  Just a heads up.
