Last night a little after 8PM, a home alarm was going off at 2810 S. Emerson.  Couldn't hear it from inside our house, but it set off all the dogs on the street - including ours.

I went down the street expecting to see others milling around or outside checking on it, but no one was anywhere to be found.  I called Mesa PD non-emergency and two officers responded quickly.

They walked around the front, the South side of the house where the alarm box was located, and eventually hopped the fence.  They were able to look in from the back, but the house was completely locked up so they could not enter it.  It looked like it was between occupants and the owners have had workmen out to remodel/do repairs.

They said the home must not be monitored because no service contacted the police once the alarm was triggered, and the fuse box and another panel on the side of the house were padlocked so they couldn't try to flip off a breaker to stop it.

Ultimately they thanked me for calling and were trying to locate a number for the homeowner and ended up leaving with it still going off.  They did say that alarm boxes usually only go for a certain length of time before shutting off on their own.
