I paid $231.00 for yearly pickup with Trash Tech. Pickup are on Friday. I did get senior discount and paid for year in advance.

I'm not on the board, but I know and respect several of them. Let me address some of the issues you raised.

1) The Mansion Farm Maintentance Corp is a group of volunteers. Their only responsibilities are to enforce covenants, collect dues and maintain the open spaces. They're not a law enforcement agency. If you see illegal activity, call 911.

2) If you want someone to nogotiate discounts with a waste management company, why not do it yourself? Why not just join the board youself?

3) The difficulty with voting them out is there's noone else to vote in. Most of the board stay on solely because no one else is willing to join. If you think your dues are high now, you'll be infor sticker shock if the board just quits and the county appoints a for-profit company to rin things. Expect dues to double or triple with no increase in services. Also, expect snow ploughing to cease, since it is not the responsibility of the maintenance corp.

4) The maintenance corp does a lot more than just mow the lawn. A detailed accounting is provided at the community meetings.

Name one thing that the board does other then cutting the grass. They certainly don't trim the bushes around the ponds. They look horrible and they don't even try to get a group of people here to do it. My husband & i weeded the circle on marblehouse. it was a jungle. The board needs to hire a company or ask for help. They might get a surprise on how many people want to help and don't even get me started on the townhouse playground. That's another day.

I will have to agree with gmom and disagree with bearresident on all 4 comments. 1) they don??™t maintain anything but the grass. What about the trees on RPB that are hanging over the stree ready to fall at any given ice storm or heavy snow. What about the trees hanging over the sidewalks on MFD where people walk? Nothing like a spider web to the face. Why are the garbage pails at our presidents house in plain sight? And as far as the townhouse rentals, read Section 12 of the townhouse deed restrictions. Someone approved these rentals from the maintenance corporation and should now be responsible for the trash moving in. Not to say they are all trash but let??™s face it there is more trash dumped on our streets as of late so someone is doing it or bringing it to our neighborhood. 2) waste management companies only deal with maintenance board members for community discounts. Our current board refuses to do so and we are left to pay top price. Why not join the board you ask? That is a familiar line from the board members themselves so it might be safe to say you are one of them in disguise or they put you up to your ridiculous response. There is no joining the board. It is a voting process that outsiders never seem to get the votes. Maybe we need to go to Peoples and have this current board evaluated. 3) Some community members expressed they would be willing to run for a board position. We will start getting together and try to find a few more people. I??™d be willing to help out as well. I for one would not mind the dues increase as long as I see a change in the spending of it. The ponds are a disgrace, the trees are a disgrace, the playgrounds are a disgrace and don??™t start with the snow plowing. We have touched on that before and unless DelDot is chipping in, we just leave the mess to ice up. That??™s not a safe way to keep a neighborhood. People have to work in bad weather and need our roads cleaned up. 4) show us where they do more than mow the lawn. 2017 meeting we had over 100K in the account and that was before the 60+K was collected for 2017. Add 2018 dues and we are looking at over 200K. Don??™t hold me to the number but I believe the last report was under 100K. What was the 100+K spent on from 2017-2018 besides lawn care and cleanup on some trees that fell? It surely was not tree trimming, snow plowing or mulching. Even the stone path to the playgrounds has been overridden with weeds. Everything we post gets looked at as complaints rather than ok these neighbors are concerned and care for the community. Let??™s work together to keep mansion farm a nice place to live. We just get the why don??™t you join the committee? Or no answer at all. Quick comment on Vinyl fencing. 3 rail design is available in many colors. Our current board is against it because it doesn??™t have the same shape as wood. How can this be taken seriously? The argument for a due increase is always we pay 1998 fees. But can??™t the same argument be made that vinyl fencing was not available in 1998 as it is now and being a 3 rail design is available, why are they so against it? And to quickly touch on respect. Where I come from you only respect those that are deserving of it. To get respect you need to give respect. Right now our neighborhood is being disrespected! Just go outside and walk around. It didn??™t look like this a few years ago.
