You need to report this to UHAB http://www.uhab.coop/. Not all HDFC's permit subletting. HDFC's are not to be used for investment properties. It is a huge problem in NYC and the Attorney General, Mayor and Burrough President need to place more restrictions and law regarding HDFC's as those who need affordable housing are not getting them. Our cooperative is rampid with illegal sublets, (Turin House 609 Columbus Ave NY NY 10024) and it is a disgrace. Many Board members have family members who are illegally subletting their units and the Board sits silent. Turin House was built for low income families in our neighborhood and it was turned into a profit making building.
