About our association

Our Mission

The Main Street Association is a collective voice that promotes and advocates the uniqueness of the neighborhood and the diverse historic, commercial, cultural, residential and educational assets of Main Street, Louisville, Kentucky. That means taking advantage of the new opportunities and keeping the best interests of Main Street in the forefront of downtown planners' decisions.

Who Should Join

Anyone with a stake in the future of Main Street and downtown Louisville is encouraged to participate in the MSA: property owners, business operators, restaurateurs, arts and cultural organizations, tourism attractions, employees and residents. You don't have to work or live on Main Street to be part of the excitement. If you have an interest in your downtown neighborhood, we're interested in you!

What's In It for You

As a member of the MSA, you will have a direct link to our elected officials. Your concerns about safety, street festivals, traffic, cleanliness and maintenance are heard - that's guaranteed!
In addition, the MSA gives you a voice in the planning and design, zoning and preservation activities of Louisville Development Authority, Louisville Central Area, and TARC, including the T2 Light Rail Project.
The MSA also represents you before the Kentucky Main Street Program of the Kentucky Heritage Council, the Kentuckiana Heritage Consoritium, the Ohio River Bridges Project, and the Arts and Cultural Attractions Council, to name a few.
