Break In Fairbanks / Wedgewood area ALERT!

Posted in: Madison Park

Yesterday one of our residents home was broken into during the day.  Entry from the rear of home.

Be alert and report suspicious people, parked cars that look out of place, people around your neighbors homes when they are normally at work to 911.

CMPD much rather investigate something that turns out to be fine than to have to address a break in crime.   Your call might catch a burglar and save your neighbors from being a victim.   Go with your gut.  If it looks like something is up it could very well be the case.

Remember if someone knocks on the door or rings your doorbell let them know you are in the house, but don't feel like you need to open the door.  You can do that by waving them off out a window.   It is a good thing to Avoid doing any door to door business.  If you let them know your inside if they are up to No Good chances are they will move on.

Selwyn Park told me they had recent door to door activity and the person(s) were not very nice when they were told No.   We had the same thing last year in Madison Park.

Do as our Neighborhood Watch Signs say and report all suspicious people to 911.

When you call 911 you do not have to be revealed or even speak with the officer when they come out.  They always ask if you want to speak to the responding officer.   If you do say yes....if you have concerns just say No.

Give them as much detail as possible.   What they look like, how tall, what they are wearing, what they are doing.  If it is a vehicle give as much detail as you can.  Include license plate if you have it.

CrimeMapping.com  shows Residential burglary 5300 Block of FarmBrook Drive 9/15 12:56 PM and then the 9/18/13 4:24 PM 4700 Block of Wedgewood Drive.

There were a couple of more in the same time period in Montclaire South.

Not that far from our area both during the day time.
