What Mary Newsom has in her blog, is pretty much exactly what happened at the corner of Tyvola and Old Pineville. A car wash was built when the TOD clearly called for that corner to be a mix use building up to 10 stories tall. I remembered seeing this when I attended the TOD meetings at Archdale Church of Christ on Archdale back when the Tyvola Station and Archdale stations were being built.
Interesting the way the City has all these great plans and then does not see that they are executed.
Tyvola Mall was shown broken up and Grover Road connecting over to Kentland at Flagstaff. Will see if that ever happens.
Even Seneca Place was extended in the TOD to Old Pineville Road. (not really sure what the benefit of that would be). Perhaps easier access to the Woodlawn transit station.
