I was curious if anyone else in the neighborhood ran much along Woodlawn Road. I do and have noticed that there are several places along the south side of Woodlawn where ground cover and trees have grown almost completely over the sidewalk. Anyone have any ideas about how to remedy this problem? I would be happy to go to these houses and trim the bushes/trees and cut away the ground cover myself but wasn't sure if people would be offended if I showed up at their door with a shovel and clippers! oh well... if you have a sidewalk in your yard, please please maintain it...

Just call it in to 311 and they will have the property owner address.  I will send your post in to the Code division ... but they like exact locations.  We did have an attendee at an HOA meeting a couple of months ago complain about the same issue.  Ken Davis our current president tried making a general request for service but was told he needed specific addresses.

If you wish to report it directly to 311 just report as overgrowth on sidewalks and give addresses.

Property owners are required to keep shrubs, bushes, ect. off the sidewalks and out of the lanes of traffic.   In addition tree limbs should be kept cut back off street lights.

thanks

Kirk Young is the code inspector and Chip Gallup is with CDOT.  You can e-mail them directly if you wish to provide more details  kashleyh

They have both addressed similar problems in the past for the community.

PS...the homeowner might very well like some help! So if you were serious you can let Kirk and Chip know and perhaps they can forward the offer to the owner.
