Parking on your Front Lawn is illegal now (KEEP OFF THE GRASS)

Don't get caught PARKING IN YOUR YARD

It is now illegal to park your vehicle on your grass. Only driveway surfaces such as concrete, gravel, black top or other hard surfaces that are normally acceptable for parking on are allowed in the City of Charlotte. The fine is $25.00 per vehicle in violation. After 3 citations in a one year period your vehicle will be towed at your expense!

HOW TO REPORT VIOLATORS parking on lawns

Residents can report violators of the parking ordinance to the city customer service number directly at 704-336-7600. Be prepared to identify the type of vehicle (color minimum) and time of day problem is happening along with the exact address. The City will respond within 72 hours! Violators can also be reported to Martin Doss at Martydoss@aol.com. He will keep a record of the problem and insure the matter is addressed on your behalf to the codes department!

If Parking in the Road

Remember your vehicle must park in the direction of traffic when street parking. In addition your wheels next to curb must be no more than 12 inches from the curb! Never park in front of a private or public driveway. Failure to comply can result in a FINE!
