CashKeys Now Available for Meters

No quarters? No problem. The City of Denver Division of Parking Management is implementing a new program that will allow you to have quick and easy meter payment right at your fingertips (with or without quarters). It's called the CashKey and it's available now.

The CashKey is a programmable key that provides a cashless way to pay for electronic parking meters operated by the City of Denver. The key is programmed when you "buy" time for it. The CashKey fits on your key chain and is available in increments of $5 from a $10 minimum to a $100 maximum?…with an initial deposit of $15 (you get that back when you return the CashKey). You simply insert the CashKey into a keyhole located next to the coin slot on the meter. For each insertion of the key, .25 is deducted from the key balance and time is added to the meter. When your key balance gets low, you just purchase more time to have it added to your key.

To get your CashKey, bring cash (no checks or credit cards are accepted) to the Parking Management Division of the Denver Department of Public Works, located at 100 16th St., Suite 780, from 9 a.m. to 4;30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
