Hospitality Consultants Up Close and (just a bit) Personal

As soon as you walk into the offices of Hospitality
Consultants, you know immediately why Tito Christensen and
Sarah Porter Osborn are in the hospitality industry.
Simply, they get it. . . the real meaning of "hospitality."

With white cotton curtains, plump couches, wide open windows
and polished wood floors in an upstairs office of an
historic North Denver home, you feel as if you could kick
off your shoes and slide into their lives of cool jobs and
crazy schedules. And even as they chat about the work that
consumes their time and their passion, you find they are two
of the busiest-and most accommodating-people you've ever
met.

They are people who love people. They both say the best
thing about LoDo is sitting in front of the Oxford Hotel and
knowing just about everyone who walks by. They're civic
leaders with a list of volunteer involvement that would make
even a professional philanthropist proud. And when you ask
them what they like best about their jobs, Sara says and
Tito agrees, "When we partner with non-profit organizations,
we help them make a bunch of money which helps them fulfill
their mission. That feels great."

Tito and Sarah have done more than their share in helping
LDDI fulfill its mission. This year, they're planning the
Lodo Games, LoDo Loft Tours, the Crawfish Boil, the Lighting
of the Union Station (soon to be a five-day event!), and the
Food and Wine Experience (with the Hospitality Association
of Lower Downtown).

Why do they choose to partner with LDDI? "LDDI is a
valuable resource to our clients," says Tito. "It's the
pipeline to the city."

What is Hospitality Consultants?

Tito: We are a marketing, public relations and advertising
company that specializes in the hospitality industry. We
also create and produce fundraising events for non-profit
organizations.

What do you like about creating events for LoDo?

Sarah: We get to think of fun ideas and get people to do
them and get excited about it!

Tito: As residents move in, we're focusing on events that
enhance the lives of people who live there. . .instead of
disrupt them.

How do you spend your weekends?

Tito: I like to cook, garden and putz around the house-and
visit my three fabulous grandchildren in Minneapolis.
Sarah's the travel bug!

Sarah: I do love to travel, but lately I've been working on
renovating our 1925 house. My husband's an architect so he
takes it very seriously!

What are your favorite books?

Tito/Sarah: Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by
Rebecca Wells.

Sarah: It touches everyone on so many different levels.

Tito: It's one of the best books I've ever read.

What's your philosophy of life?

Tito: Be nice to people.

Sarah: I don't think I can sum it up, but I will say Tito
and I have the perfect partnership. We have a full plate
and it can be very stressful, but we love what we do. I
can't imagine liking anything better!

How did you get the name "Tito?"

Tito: I was named Carolyn, but my two-year-old sister
always called me "Tito," her word for "sister." The
nickname stuck. . .and it still fits!
