Lower Downtown District, Inc.

Committee Column

Apr 12, 2000

The face-or faces-of the Lower Downtown District Inc. is changing. Last month at the annual meeting, 13 new directors were added?… a record for LDDI and a symbol of the changes its experiencing this year. "It's a good thing," says Executive Director Dan du Bois. "We're expecting lots of new ideas and enthusiasm.' This board of directors voted in a new cast of LDDI Board Members to lead this group. The following were elected: Jim Roberts, President
Barbara Gibson, Vice President, President Elect
Lee Goodfriend, Secretary Steve Ableman, Treasurer
Larry Gibson, Past President According to Dave Prebble, head of the Nominating Committee, LDDI altered its practice of electing two vice presidents to electing just one vice president who will also serve as president elect. This decision was made with "the hope that the immediate past president would also continue to be an active member of the executive committee," says Dave Prebble. "We believe it will be a good way to provide some continuity to the organization." Other committee news includes the resurgence of the Historical Preservation Committee. The group is currently brainstorming ideas for implementing a historical preservation program. If you' re interested in
being a part of this pleas call the LDDI office at 303-628-5428. And?…finally, the Neighborhood Plan is being presented by Larry Gibson to the City Planning Office on March 27th. Outcomes of this presentation will be in the next LoDown.
