Downtown Denver Residents Organization held its monthly Board meeting Tuesday, October 10. At the meeting, Captain Pete Garcia, newly appointed to the Denver Police Department's District 6, reiterated the DPD's goal to maintain safety, respond to residents' complaints, and continue active watch over the 16th Street Mall.
Upcoming Forum

DDRO's bi-monthly informative Forum will be Tuesday, November 14, at 6
p.m., at the Wynkoop's Mercantile Room. Forum subjects are always
pertinent to improving the quality of life in our neighborhood.

Light Rail News

Bids for Central Platte Valley's light rail will be submitted to RTD in two phases: the first will build the track from Auraria to the new Broncos stadium by September 2001; the second will continue past Pepsi Center to Track 11 at Denver Union Station by March 2002. The 16th Street Mall Shuttle will be extended to Union Station area by August
2001. The City of Denver is looking for private investors to build
light rail from Union Station to DIA.

Exciting Happenings

DDRO will hold its annual holiday party between Christmas and New Year's. The new slate of 2001 officers will be presented to the members for approval at that time (which is DDRO's annual meeting).
