Fractal Geometry and Life

Jun 15, 2009

Biologist, author, and lecturer Bruce Lipton (www.brucelipton.com) reasons that fractal geometry is a metaphor for our relationship with Nature and God. A fractal is an irregular geometric shape that can be repeatedly subdivided; each part being a smaller copy of the whole. They are especially useful in computer modeling of geometric shapes that are highly irregular such a clouds, mountains, and coastlines.

Lipton sees the proteins in our bodies as ?“complementary images?” of the external signals they receive and process. Thus, we are ?“self-similar patterns?” our environment
